Mark Quinn
Mark Quinn is a registered psychologist with 18 years experience in Solution-focused andSolution-Oriented approaches to Brief Therapy.
He has worked with a broad range of clientpopulations including clients with a variety of mental health problems. Mark has extensiveexperience working with adults, young people, families and couples. He has worked ina variety of settings including university counselling, community counselling centresand private practice, and has consulted with, supervised and trained many communityorganisations working themselves with a wide range of client groups. Mark hasrun over 50 workshops in Solution-focused and Solution-oriented approaches to BriefTherapy, including Solution-oriented Mindfulness and Hypnosis. He worked for several yearsdeveloping a community based family therapy centre that provided free counselling, utilisedcutting edged approaches and was acknowledged with three awards for innovative bestpractice.
Over the second half of his clinical career Mark has become more interestedin experiential approaches to solution based work including mindfulness and hypnosis.He is an associate of and has trained closely with Dr Robert McNeilly, an internationallyrecognised Solution-oriented Therapist and Hypnotherapist and Director of the EricksonianInstitute of Tasmania. Dr McNeilly was himself trained extensively by Dr. Milton H. Erickson,pioneer of Brief Therapy and strengths-based hypnosis.
Mark is now in full time privatepractice in Canberra, providing counselling, clinical supervision and consultancy, and offering trainingin solution and strengths-based approaches to therapy, mindfulness and hypnosis. Hepractices Solution-Oriented Brief Therapy with great enthusiasm for the efficacy of theapproach, and believes strongly in the respect that it awards clients and the belief that itholds in their resources and potential for change.
